The Academy of the Opened Ways is a daughter school fo the Servants of the Light (SOL) Mystery School founded by W.E.Butler and Dolores Ashcroft-Nowicki in the early 1970s. Ernest Butler was a student of the late Dion Fortune, one of the greatest figures of 20th century Western esotericism.
The Academy of the Opened Ways builds on the firm foundation set down by Ernest Butler and Dolores Ashcroft-Nowicki to create a new breed of mystery school incorporating many modern developments from the fields of accelerated learning, personal development and quantum physics.
Like the SOL, the Academy of the Opened Ways is a “fully contacted” mystery school through the Fraternitatis Alexandrae, an “inner plane” esoteric order with its roots going back to ancient Alexandria.

Its founder and current Director of Studies is Andy Cooper, a Third Degree Initiate of the Servants of the Light who has spent nearly twenty years working and studying esoteric science and the magical arts.
